Recently we had the olympics, there were many people from massachusets.
Including:
Ice Hockey: Matt Boldy (Millis), Alex Carpenter (North Reading), Jack Eichel (North Chelmsford), Noah Hanifin (Norwood).
Luge: Chevonne Forgan (Chelmsford), Zachary DiGregorio (Medway), Ansel Haugsjaa (Framingham).
Figure Skating: Maxim Naumov, Emily Chan, and Spencer Howe.
Curling: Korey Dropkin (Southborough).
Skiing/Other: Julia Kern (cross-country), Julie Letai (speedskating), Kristopher Horn (bobsled).
Medalists:
Korey Dropkin (Curling - Mixed Doubles): Won a Silver medal, marking a historic achievement for the U.S. in this event. Dropkin is from Southborough and learned to curl at the Broomstones Curling Club in Wayland.
Women's Ice Hockey Team (Gold): Several players with strong Massachusetts ties helped secure the Gold medal, including:
Aerin Frankel: Goalie for the Boston Fleet and Northeastern University graduate.
Megan Keller: Boston Fleet player and Boston College graduate.
Haley Winn: Boston Fleet player.
Caroline Harvey: A Massachusetts-raised defender who was a star in the tournament.
Jaelin Kauf (Freestyle Skiing): Won Silver in Women's Moguls and another Silver in the first-ever Women's Dual Moguls.
Jessie Diggins (Cross-Country Skiing): While not from MA, the Manchester, Vermont native (who has close New England ties) won a Bronze medal in the 10km freestyle despite competing with broken ribs.
Ryan Cochran-Siegle (Alpine Skiing): Won Silver in the men's super-G, a notable New England performance.
Soon we will have the paralypics were the athletes have physical and mental dysabilities.
